2007 Silverado Classic AC Issues

Hi! Have a 2007 Silverado Classic with the 4.8 and about 96k miles. The last few weeks my AC has been acting up. I will be driving and it will just start pumping hot air. I restart the truck and starts to work fine again. It is not happening all the time but enough to be a pain. I want to try to fix the issue before it gets worse. I tried doing some searching and could not find anything to help. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Not sure, I know a few months back when i brought in for an oil change they said it was starting to dry rot. I did not have the time to try to fix it myself as i was getting ready for a road trip and had them put a new one on. Is the A/C belt the one that is like the serpintine belt? I thought they had tensioners that were self tightnen.

Try a search for blender door actuators. This is a common issue with these trucks. The threads you find will explain how you can verify proper operation of the doors. Also as far as your belt, you will have a main belt then a smaller serpentine belt at the bottom/front of the engine. It does indeed have a self tenstioner. To change it, you pop off the main belt then remove the AC belt. Long arms help or go from the bottom.

I searched blender door actuators and i only came up with 4 post. All i could find from them was to reset the truck by disconnecting the negative from the battery. I am in Florida so only use my heat a few times a year, if that. My truck has the manual levers i move up and down for heat/cold if that makes a differnce. The search results seemed to be dealing with the digital AC units.

A lot of times if you have changed your battery out or disconnected it for some reason it will cause the actuator doors to act up blowing cold for a minute to full heat the next. In my experience, with my Suburban, it has taken many, many times of engine/AC on and offs to straighten out every time the battery has been disconnected. This could however not be your problem. Heat blowing in your face, in the south, this time of year, blows...

Thanks for the links. From what i read it appears i have two blendor motors in my truck. One for the drivers side located above the transmission and another for the passenders side under the glove box. Sounds like they go bad after time. Looks like i will need to buy two of them to fix my issue.

I would be happy to look into this for you on my end as well. Please feel free to contact me with the last eight of your VIN and I will be able to do further research. Thank you in advance.
